Sudden was written very closely to We All Fall and with a similar idea in mind. I was loving working with the CS 60 and wanted to make something expansive and unlike anything I’d heard the CS 60 do before. I had this simple kick and snare and a huge reverb and shimmer for the CS and this evocative long melodic phrase came out. I love the synth being ducked by the snare and the super satisfying wave form and reverbs.
Similar to We All Fall I feel like it’s a vast space, we’re traveling, it’s a memory, I can’t ignore the slight OG Vangellis nod but in the new context, it feels tinted orange and dark, slightly misty but not cold.
